Notes on John - 332pg - Dr. Thomas Constable - 2008
Dr. Constable has on his website what equate to 66 full books (commentaries) on the Bible.. Most are well over 100 pages of 8x11 text and will bring into consideration much scholarship and other authors on eachBible book - but from a conservative teachers perspective.
Each book inludes table of conents in PDF format, maps, charts, comments on the original language, etc...
A student would be in good hands if using just this tool. (Not Dr. Constables PDF's are not devotional in nature as might be the works of Van Ryan or CHM)

[Intro from his website]
The following are notes that I have prepared from my own study of the Scriptures. I distribute them to my students in my Bible classes at Dallas Theological Seminary and have done so for many years. I have also made some of them available to the people in my church. They provide more information than a study Bible, but they are less technical than many commentaries.
These are working documents. As you will notice, they each have a year edition number. I am constantly upgrading, adding to, and changing these notes. Whenever I teach a class and distribute them, I print out the most current edition and name it for the year in which I teach the class. So the edition year indicates the last time I taught the book using the notes.
I offer these notes to anyone who is interested in understanding the Bible better. They are not perfect, as I am not. They reflect my present level of understanding. As new editions become available, I will replace the older ones. You may print them or simply read them off the screen. Feel free to duplicate paper copies for distribution to other people. Please do not change them and then distribute them as my work. They are copyrighted.
