A French writer in the 1800's who was conservative in his commentaries on scripture. While I can not be aware of ALL of his doctrine, I can say that any time I opened a commentary by Godet I recognized in it the interpretations of scripture commonly held by conservative Bible teachers down through the ages. It was the type of thing that made me interested to see what "Godet" had to say on a topic. Should anyone find a problem with this author or commentary, please add a comment below.
